first off, I would like to say I am really sorry about yout boy. How is he doing today? I hope he is getting better. I would have baking soda out where he can get to it. I had a friend that had a goat that was attacked by dogs also and they had all the free choice feed and did what you did "you want to baby them because they are hurting and feed them more then they should), but the problem with that is, if he is not moving around much he could bloat, so just leave it out for him to take when he needs it. Good luck I hope he recovers just fine.
