Not all does willingly stand for a buck. I've had a couple does come here for stud service that were in obvious heat and wanted nothing to do with the buck. I actually had to hold them so the buck could penetrate and one screamed bloody murder the whole time. I question whether she would have settled otherwise. But she came up pregnant and had a successful kidding. Now this usually tends to happen more in maiden does, but it is possible with older ones too. If your doe is crusty it's more likely the buck did the job, but a chance he didn't complete his deed if the doe didn't allow him to mount her long enough.
