Where are you? I can likely find a breeder near you if I know where you are. I'll even make the phone calls. PM me if you want. Give me your location and phone number so they can get driving directions.

I need a town. The nearest one will do. And a phone number so they can call you.

If they're alive, dry them off and see if they'll nurse. But just get them out. Your doe will likely need an antibiotic.

Oh thank goodness you're still with her. Keep trying. You can do this. Yes, keep pulling even if she isn't pushing.

Here is someone's number from goatworld 911 list. She's in California, so it's not sooo late there and it says she has 26 years experience with pygmy's.
(661) 252-7129 Her name is Judy Starbuck.

Here's another and says she will take calls anytime.
Name: Ginny Harris, "Non-Vet"
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Telephone: (505) 281-3297
Email: vharrisrn@mindspring.com
Calls Accepted: Anytime
Goat Familiarity: Pygmy, Nigerian, Boer, Other
Experience: "I have been involved in the livestock industry for 30 years in one form or another. I have worked with cattle, sheep, horses and chickens in the past. I have been raising pygmy and nigerian dwarf goats for the past 13 years. I am also a registered nurse, specializing in premature and sick infants. I feel with my experience and medical background I can be of help to folks who need it. I specialize in pygmy goat reproductive and kidding problems."

I hope these help!

Edited to add:
Here's the link to the rest of the list, in case you can't get through to these two.

Hope your doe is okay. Just for the next time, if this ever happensagain. I was in a similar situation. It was of course on a Sunday evening. No vet availsble. Well, I figured as long as I was sterile and careful and since the doe would die if I didn't do something I'd try. She'd kidded before with no problems so as I had watched her that day in labor I had no concerns. Things took an ugly turn and she presented just the way you described.
I scrubbed up good with antibacterial soap and donned a pair of latex gloves. I GENTLY started (inserting a finger at a time) to insert my hand beside the kid, feeling my way to determine the position. The kid was dead so I wasn't hopeful this would end well. I determined that the kids head was turned back, I gradually got the head into the proper position and held on to the legs and SHE actually walked slowly away causing the "birth" of the dead kid. Then she continued to strain. She had another that she delivered dead. I felt bad that I hadn't realized she was in trouble earlier. I had checked her all day and never seen any evidence of a problem. She was an old pro at kidding. Sometimes things just go wrong. Buried the kids and gave her a good shot of penicillin and she was fine. I told my vet the story and she was amazed that I could do it, (she had been out of town visiting family). One does what one must and hopes for the best. The doe had twins this spring. No problems.

I hope you managed all right -- waiting to hear.

For next time (hopefully there won't be another one like this, but you never know) check around in your area for ANYONE experienced in birthing animals. Doesn't have to be goats. The one really bad birthing I had, a friend who was a long-time cattle raiser talked me through it (his hands were too big to go inside a doe, so I had to do the work). That one, by some miracle, both mother and baby made it. I hope your doe lived.

Kathleen
