As far as your stock they are quite adorable. You state on your site that they are grade and I would just ignore the person that sent the nasty gram.I can see how they would come to some conclusion about your stock.I mean if you are going to sell pygmies then you should start off by describing the colors correctly. To state that you have rare colors is a understatement when in all actuality you have grade animals.I am not putting down grades as I have them too,but I have to honestly say that most of your pygmies look like crosses.Which is not a big deal because you are selling them as pets not show stock anyways.

Also you have a couple decrepinceys on your site that I think you should be aware of.On one page you have your doelings that were born in august that you may be breeding them this feb/march if you deem them big and healthy enough but on another page you are telling people to wait a year.Personally I DO NOT breed any of my doelings untill they are as large as the buck or until they are 18 months(this is just my preferance only).

One other factor I did not see on your site is about de worming your goats. You had no information on there about that.

Also about registering your goats all I can reccomend there is do your research first. Also before paying the big bucks for registered stock make sure there is a market in your area for registered pygmies.I have a few registered pygmies and I cannot sell them for the price that they are worth,we are in a dairy goat county.

I think your goats are adorable and it seems like you truly do love your critters and take very good care of them and you are starting off right with raising and breeding goats,I wish you luck in selling them to good homes.I can still remember when I was starting my herd and how much work it was.I now have a closed herd and love every moment I get to spend with my goaties.

Here are some othe really good sites that I didn't see on your website.

http://www.npga-pygmy.com/

http://wolfridgeranch.tripod.com/

Hope this helps ya,and just so everyone knows I am not bashing anyone here!!!
yes i can understand about the breeding thing, but one of the kids, Cadee, is huge right now. She may be big enough, but it really does depend on how mature I feel she is, and not her size. She has to be emotionally equipped too! lol hmm i think what i ment was that it was best to wait till a year.. ill have to look into that!
As for the "rare" colors (I think i may change the term to "unusual" instead because they are grade), i realize that they are grade, but that doesn't make the color any less unusuall or hard to get. I have seen some really oddly colored pygmy goats, including a gold and white color, and cadee's color. With the show stock, a rare or unregisterable color is usually culled and the color isn't bred or passed on. That's one reason why I stuck with grades instead of getting into registered ones, because the most common colors are black types or caramel types. I like diversity. I don't think they can be crosses, they are all small. The only cross they could be and be so small at the same time is pygmy/nigerian, but they would be more dairy type, right? both does are under the 23" by at least an inch ( think the max height for npga registration is 23?) and andre is 24" tall. I don't know the height on the babies or on fynley,I usually measure at 1 year.
I can't belive I forgot to add a paragraph on worming! i use hoegger herbal wormer, but not like the directions say. I use it once a month for 4 days instead of every week. I heard that using it every week is actually not very good for them. I'll add that paragraph soon!
I'll have to add those links, ive never been to wolfridgeranch.com i'll have to look around there.

I was thinking about getting some show/milk nubians in the future, and maybe around the same time I will broaden into registered pygmies. I'd like to show goats, as soon as someone around here nearby knows how and can teach me, and I don't mean 4h....

anyways, they are purebred goat and purebred pets, so even if they are unknowingly crossbreds, they are closest to pygmies, so that is what they will stay.

Well for a 15 yr old I do have to say that you do your research very well on your pygmy goats. As far the breeding they say ideally you should at least wait till at least a year to 18 months of age as this allows the pelvic bones to grow and mature,so ideally you will not have problems at kidding times. Now I have bred some of my does if they were as large as the buck and have not had problems yet.

As far as size of your grades it really all depends on the sizes of their ancestors too.We only had 1 problem with kidding last year as my last pygmy doe that I bought before I closed my herd was bred, even tho the previous owners said she wasn't, well she ended up pregnant to a very large spanish meat goat and thus she had one very large baby in there. We were able to save both mama and baby but it was very hard on both of them.

None of the less it is just sad too see that some people are truly unhappy in this world by always putting down some one else stock. It is just like that and I think even worse in the horse world.Just keep enjoying and loving them like you do.

Yes please check out wolfride I think they have awesome animals and they really know what they are doing there are a couple other really good reg.pygmy breeders out there too.If you click on the link for a brochure she will send you alot of useful information too via email.

hmmm, I think I will wait till the next breeding season, 2007. I will confess I didn't think about the pelvic bones, though I should have.
I would rather they kid nicely and later in life, rather than have a horrible birth now!

Yeah we went through a pretty rough time wheb we learned that Lola was pregnant, she was only 5 months old at the time, and then one month later she HAD a baby, and a normal sized one too! But she did just fine, but now we are not sure that she will continue to grow, Lola that is not the baby, the baby is growing just fine. Lola got bred on accident of course, we sent her in with her mama to the buck pen so that her mama could get breed, along with Lol's triplet sister and for some reason he got lola pregnant as well, thank God her sister did not get pregnant though, she is only half the size of Lola, due to being the smallest of triplets.

I merely meant to point out that it is easier for others to sympathize that someone was rude to you if you are not rude yourself. Using vulgarity is rude, even if you do find others who will excuse you in it. I fail to see how the fact that others use worse language is an excuse. I would not do business with anyone who spoke to me in such a manner. Someday you might see the sense in that.
