Been away for awhile
Hi all,
I seem to come and go on this site and now that we are building our own little homestead again, I'm coming to get some advice, sometimes rant about stuff and contribute where I can.
I've been around livestock since I was little and have an Animal Science degree with a minor in poultry. I found out going there what I didn't want to do. I strive to be as sustainable as possible.Trying to give back more than were taking.
We have a big garden out front of our house, we just acquired some barred rocks in Feb. and sheep a week ago. Were trying to do some of what Salatin does. We have the chickens in a tractor shelter and the sheep are in a moveable pen. The chickens are following the sheep. We are small scale, but hope to expand into our forest area a little. We have 10 acres and are only using about 3 of that.
Looking forward to talking with some like minded folks.
