Hello from Michigan

Hi everyone -

I joined recently as I'm trying to rehome 2 male Pekin ducks, but didn't realize what a vast forum this is. I'm looking around and exploring. My husband and I live on 5 acres in Michigan with 3 horses (pasture pets - we don't ride anymore), 3 chickens, 1 duck (and the 2 males we are trying to get rid of), 2 dogs and 3 kitties.

We're going to get some new chickens this year (a few have been killed by coyotes & hawks over the past 2 years), and maybe a female duck or 2 to buddy up with our lonely girl. I'm 3 years into semi-serious gardening, but I work 2 jobs and don't get too much time at home. I'd also like to make soap, and cheese, and get into canning. My husband makes gorgeous barn wood furniture so we might get into selling that at some point.

Just wanted to say hi
Jo, pattycake, dsmythe and 1 others like this.

Welcome from another Michigander. What part are you from, we are from a small farming community in S.E. Michigan. Might be interested in your ducks if not too far away.

Howdy! I’m in the thumb. I also make soap. We no longer have chickens because a fox moved into the neighborhood. I miss my chickens.
