Hello from North Carolina!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful time during the holidays!

I've started gardening a few years ago and got my brother very interested in homestead so between my him and I we have learned a tremendous amount of information in regards of organic gardening, vermicomposting, hugelkurtur, Square foot gardening, aquaphonics, permaculture, FODDER and keeping chickens, rabbits and now the new addition, goats. I will eventually get a cow LoL I mentioned my brother because whenever one of us want to learn about something, we go hands-on. He is a Jack of all trades (handyman) and I love to research and set up systems. We work well together. Heck, we run a handyman business together. Our spouses prefer to work outside of the home though lol

Anyways, we keep the chickens and rabbits at my brothers. I'm starting to set up a homestead at my house. I purchased 3 pygmy goats, two pregnant and a male, son of one of the does We acquired them back in November and we're told that the buck jumped the fence so they couldn't telling when the does were due. I keep checking and monitoring for changes, including their tail bone. I was off by 2 days. LoL So, I went to feed them one early morning and when I returned three hours later (been doing this each day to be able to be present and help during delivery) So, on December 20th, I found my "biggest and fatest" doe cleaning a second kid. Both kids were male, beautiful and healthy. Other than having to move them to their pen, that is all that my husband and I had to do. Oh, and if was during the warmest week we have had since Winter weather started. I was happy for this.

Then on the second day one of the kids started to scream (I didn't think it was normal) and began to fall over and not be able to get up. I picked him up with a towel, wrapped and brought it to the house to keep him warm and feed him some colostrum from a bottle. I Also gave him some Molasses 50/50 with water. He didn't care for it much for either, but after a few minutes he wanted to get going and play with the dog. I let him play for a few minutes. Took him back to be with his mom, made sure he got more milk and he had been running like crazy, just like his brother. That was a bit scary!!!

This site /app is awesome. I've been reading and learning from you all for awhile!
