Hello from Texas

Hello Everyone

I actually joined this site several months ago but have just been lurking and reading. There is so much information to absorb!

Well here is a little about us: My husband and I have just saved up and put down on a small piece of property to call our own. Closing day was yesterday. We don’t exactly have a lot of cash but we are working our way towards something instead of paying rent somewhere in the metroplex. Long story short we are tired of renting and tired of people telling us we can’t have our 4 dogs in their overpriced house that is worn out anyway. lol

We went with owner finance since we really didn’t want to tangle with a bank. I am not entirely sure that I trust the guy we bought from but I will get into that later. Our new place is 1.5 acres and has electric and water lines already there as well as somewhat of a septic tank. It is sort of a starter for us. It’s a very short term to get it paid off and hopefully we can buy some acreage after that. We do have neighbors on both sides but they are not as close as the neighbors we have in the city so it’s a start.

Tuesday we bought ourselves an older (1984) motor home and the plan is to use that while we set our place up. At first it will just be on weekends but after utilities are turned on we will go full time.

I am also looking at a 12x16 shed being sold at an auction for very cheap. We may be buying it and have it moved onto our place. It is in need of some repair but it is finished! We shall see how that goes.

I will be taking a lot of pictures and videos of everything and I am sure I will have a ton of questions for everyone. I look forward to getting to know folks around here and learning from all of you.

Well hey neighbor! lol Metromess is a perfect way to describe it! We are close to Godley so we are barely out of it.
