2013 calendar will happen...
HI all, I just had a longer than usual time getting a quote from the printer to make sure of prices, to see if this could still be done. The prices are good, so Chuck gave the go ahead for it. But the voting times may be a little shorter due to it already being Sept, and I'm aimiing for a Thanksgiving time for being able to sell and ship.
Tonight I'll be getting working on the email acct and details for the photos. I will attach a poll for some theme ideas. Can't take too much time on this.
Also, I'm really wanting to do a Homesteading Porch calendar, but that's just me.
Another theme would be Homesteading Children at work or play.

I've put a poll on this for some theme ideas that I've come up with.
This is a 2 day poll, so we can get things moving.
Thanks, And I know the photos will be as good as usual or better.
Angie

So, for the theme, the pics would need to be along the same lines?
ie, if it was porches the picture would need to include a porch?

I'd say a porch for this would be porches, gazebos, mostly.
And there's still time to take photos of porches with flower, pumpkins and christmas decorations. Your photos, nothing from other places on the internet (or I'd go crazy.). Would not have to be your porch, but a photo you took (or immediate family took at a gathering, etc).

Personally, I'm sick of all the human kid pictures...I would rather see pets and or livestock. Anything but kids.
Thank you Angie for making it happen again!!

It is my attempt at humor, especially considering the main forum I mod.
12/21/12 is when the Mayan calendar says that this time will end - doesn't say it will reset and start over, just ends.
Some smart folks think the scribe ran out of table, but the date is mentioned in other cultures also. So, it's a well known, date for the end of the world.
Give it a google and you'll be reading for days.
I figure if anyone makes it past 12/21/12 it will be homesteaders as we are tough in the skills that must be needed when going more primitive to live.
So, just a little joke.

I picked other, cause I like a mixture. A bit of everything, some kids around the Homestead, some produce, some landscape, some porch, you get the drift.
I would say 13 different things!!!

I also like the variety we've had in the past. It's also nice if we had photos that match each month. Kind of gives something for everyone. One theme doesn't really fit homesteading.

If we chose porches. as it appears at this time.
We can do looking at the porch, or looking from the porch to see all that other stuff.
We can see porches decorated for October with fall things, or Christmas with lights and trees, or spring with pots of daffodils, and winter with snow on the steps or blowing bubbles and them freezing before landing on the ground.
And as to special for each month. That has been the effort for every preceeding calendar. Last year the photos chosen were voted on for which month they went on. Before that, I took the winners and placed them to the best month for the photo. Take a look, very few snow scenes are in the July - August area and very few swimming or picnicing photos are showing for December or January.
go take a look at the prior ones. You'll find, what you have suggested and like has pretty much been done in the past, and I anticipate something along those lines with this one - But I may do the distributing of the winning photos to the month as we are pushing the time frame to get about 100 photos, post them all here, and give everyone a chance to vote on them, so this will be an HT calendar and not just an Angie Calendar.
So, think a little bit of the general theme, and then the way it can be done - it's not very limiting, but does pull the calendar together in a more logical manner.

My personal feeling is, he was a government employee, and it was four-thirty on a Friday afternoon. Over the weekend, his department funding got cut, and on Monday morning he found himself working as a clerk in a corn-storage facility.
However, that doesn't address the issue of the calendar. If I can help, let me know

we are collecting photos now.
Soon, like next week, we will be voting to get 13 chosen for the calendar. Then it will be printed and up for sale - aiming for about Thanksgiving availability.
