What is wrong with Ryobi weedeater?

I was just given a Ryobi weed eater. Starts on the second pull, motor clean and runs great.

The head does not spin, however. I refer to the "head" as the place that holds the line and cuts the grass. It does not currently have a spool, line or the cover that fits over the spool.

Can this be fixed easily and cheaply? Is it worth fixing?

Thank you so much in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First thing wrong is it is made by Ryobi which is poor quality made to a price junk and not really worth the time or money to buy or repair. If it is going to cost you anything look to buy good equipment that will last a long time.

Yes, just my opinion, but when I took over running a cabinet shop my first problem was to sort out functional tools from junk. The junk filled several garbage cans and was mostly Ryobi tools.

Ryobi

It depends on how old it is. I've had mine for a good 7-8 years. I love it. I had problems with the spool head last year. I had to go to several different places before I could fine someone who had the part. Cost me $13, but it runs fine right now. If noone nearby carries the parts, do a google search for Ryobi and you can probably explain the problem and order parts from them. I've had good luck with the ryobi weedeater, but like the last person said, some of their other stuff isn't all that great....maybe the weedeater was actually made by a different company with the ryobi name?? oh well. I like mine anyway...
