How good are hanging food dehydrators?

Has anyone here used the hanging type of food dehydrator before?

No electricity involved, just shelves surrounded by netting hung outdoors.

I'm wondering if you've had good success using one.

If you have a good dark and dry place to hang it, it's excellent.

In humid weather, results can be iffy.

I've never used one, but I have a cousin who used hanging drying racks over her wood heating stove. She just dried herbs and flowers that way.

I use one all the time, was my Grandmothers. Takes longer then the electric ones but the result is the same.

I love it for tomatos! Just started using it (from Lehmans) this year and
haven't got out the electric one at all. But we have dry air and it's been
hot and there's usually a good breeze here...
