Gumball machine business

Does anyone do bulk candy/gumball vending as a FT/PT business? If so how many heads do you have and is it worth it?

I have done enought research to not get trapped by the biz-op adds (u-turn, etc) and think that this could be a good little money maker, if done right.

Run as far as you can away from it. I did it for a while (My dad convinced me how much we could make doing it... sigh) cost me quite a little bit of money!

You can buy the machines and bulk supplies at "Sam's Club" skip the rip-off middle man. Placing them is the hard part.

Soda Pop vending machines are suppose to be good, again placing them is the hard part.

Placing is VERY hard. The places that usually DON'T have one, aren't where you would want to place one anyways. (not enough traffic etc. for business)

If the truth were known, Theres a co. called Ashland vending ,That places the machines for you ,If you purchase from them . The prices are pretty much in line considering the leg work,For sites is done for you.. And yes they have a extensive Web site too.

I work in a small family restaurant, 9 booths. We recently bought the machine at Sam's Club that has 3 slots we filled with gum, nerds, and jelly beans. I don't remember what they paid for the machine but my boss told me that once the first batch of candies were gone the machine would have paid for itself. Our total take the first week was $80.

That's my point... the boss bought one himself... didn't let someone else bring one in and place it.

We bought our own machines at were placing them.
