What all is my meat grinder good for?

I've read you can do all kinds of things with them but mine didn't come with directions or recipes or anything.

What's it good for? Is there a good "things to do with your meat grinder" book?

Thanks!

Buy London broil or round steak on sale(1.69/lb or so) and make your own hamburger.Much safer than burger made from 2000 cows ,and much better quality too.

WoW, and ground sirloin is really good too.

I havent bought prepared burger in 10 years since I started this, its a major YUMM!

Fla Gal, Can you describe what the nut butter attachment looks like?

My grinder is an old one, but I'm sure we can teach it new tricks!

"OUCH!" he says, screwing up his face and crossing his legs.

Mitch, how are you making out there, buddy?

If you like to render your own lard, running the lard through the grinder really breaks it down for a quicker render.

If your making a large batch of egg salad it works to run the peeled boiled eggs through the grinder.

Grind up raw potatoes for potato pancakes. Toss in a bit of onion at the same time.

Afriend of mine runs ice cubes through to crush her ice for her backyard parties. She does a big tub full at a time.

Tip: when all meat has been run through.. push three slices of bread through to help get it all out of the auger. I think I got this tip from Alton Brown on the Food Channel and its a nice tip. If I'm making meat loaf I use that ground up bread right in the recipe.

I've been known to take a bunch of good bologna (stuff from the local locker-very good stuff that comes in chunks) run it through the grinder with some pickles, hard boiled eggs and onions. Add some mayo and you have a yummy sandwich salad. I do the same thing with beef, chicken, turkey, rabbit, just about any meat. Yummy stuff.

Make ham loaf

or sanwitch spreads,

my wife jsut ground up onions and froze them that were starting to get bad,

I use to grind crackers for chicken fry,

you can add stuffing tubes and stuff sausages,

If you careless you can shorten the length of you fingers,

you can use it for a door stop,
