I can't decide - I've been looking forward to going for months! It would be wonderful to meet some of the people on the board. How are we going to recognize each other???

But I'm closing on my FIRST HOMESTEAD on Weds and moving on Thurs and part of me just really wants to walk around my new home and smile. Plus do some unpacking, I guess.

They sent me a flyer a few months ago. I was planning on going, being that they are only a few hours away. However, I will be in surgery the following Monday, so I will probably be up to my eyeballs in aligators getting ready. I'll be on crutches for a week afterwards, so I have to cook enough food to last me until I can walk again. I also have to put stair rails in so I can get about the house, clean house beforehand because I won't be able to for a week, do laundry, etc. It's too bad, because it looks interesting and I did want to go. Is this an anual event? If those who are going could provide an update when you get back, it would be greatly appreciated.

We're going

From TN. Going to see how he supplements his book-writing income.

Thanks for the link, Bob ... I saw there's something coming up in Indy in December that might be more "do-able" for us!

I liked what Joel Salatin said in his pastured poultry book -- basically hard work never hurt anybody

Cab,
He's actually figured out how to make money from farming, and he's not embarrased to say so.
Some of his ideas are a little strange, but when you read his stuff it makes a lot of sense.
