Uses for a lawn tractor.

Well, it appears that Wind In Her Hair has finally done in our lawn tractor. The idler pulley, bearings, bushings and stud are worn out and small engine store cannot get replacement parts (16yo Lawn Boy tractor).

So, does anyone have any great ideas of uses for a lawn tractor without a mower deck besides a toy for the grandkids?

George Jones used to drive his to the liquor store to avoid being on the roadway. The only practical use that I can think of would be pulling a cart or wagon. If the engine is still good you could use it for Something.

Do you have a little wagon. As you get older that will be helpful for moving things, hauling things around the place. Sorry about your loss.

Well chain that bad boy up and pull a sled!!! The kids love it. You could still use it for a mini hauler if you put a cart on the back.

If only the mower deck accessory is shot and the tractor is still in good working shape you can use it for chores around with a small utility cart towed behind. If you could fit a blade on the front or snowblower attachment?
pull behind a motorized rotary tiller available from places like sears?
Lots of uses for a motorized lawn tractor without the deck. I just saw a small brush hog unit had it's own motor that all you do is pull it behind a garden tractor or quad.

Go to a salvage yard (metal recycling center). Some places save the mowers and tillers for spare parts. Typically one brings their tools and takes off the parts they need. Starters go for $15 and carbuerators for $7 I don't know how much the parts are that you need.

You could join the US Lawn Mower Racing Association and enter a few races with it!

I hauled a log with mine.

Now, I don't think that it was designed for the weight, and I suppose you would burn up something if you made a habit of it, but I just had the one big tree to move.

It came down in a storm, and the trunk was a little wider than a foot. I cut off the limbs, dragged it over to the garden, and turned it into a bench.
