the static depth is one consideration ,
Draw down is another,
recharge rate is another,
the static depth is the level of the water when the well is setting,
the draw down is how far the water goes down when the pump is running, (your pump needs to be capable of pumping from this depth),
the recharge rate or (gallons per min), is how fast water will flow back in to the well and maintain a level with out pumping it below the reach of the pump,
so you will need the knowledge of the three items to make a proper choice, ( the last two are really the ones you need to look at).
