Fox urine really does scare bunnies and squirrels

I've been having a horrible time with squirrels and bunnies and who knows what else for months now. But I didn't want to shoot or poison them because even though they're driving me crazy, I kind of like them. I just want them to stay out of my yard area and away from my gardens.

So last week, I broke down and got some fox pee from a place called Leg Up Enterprises ( :haha: ). I got the kind of dried kind and sprinkled it all the way along the fenceline around the perimeter of my yard area. The dogs love it - they've been rolling in it and peeing on it and everything else.

But apparently it really does keep the squirrels and bunnies away. I finally got confirmation tonight --- I hadn't seen them in the yard, but thought maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.

Then, earlier this evening, here comes the bunny. And I watched him as he bounded up to the fenceline around the yard and stopped dead in his tracks. He even looked worried. :yeeha:

And he went all along the back fence looking worried, but not once crossing over the fox peeline. :yeeha: And he kept hopping up to different points, stopping dead in his tracks and looking worried.

And finally ... he gave up. :yeeha:

So if the bunnies and squirrels and everything else are driving you crazy, this is the stuff to get!

But I'll be danged if fox pee doesn't work.

I was told by a friend that mountain lion urine will keep deer out of your yards, found a place to get it but since we are right across from a year round pond I want to check with a traper to make sure I dont get ride of deer but attrack lions. :no: .

I use coyote urine around my garden. It wont keep the cats out but found it keeps the rabbits away.

Well, it's turning out to not work so well with the bunnies. I think that's because the bunnies have been sneaking into my yard area for maybe two years - maybe three - and they consider it their turf.

So with great effort, they crossed the pee lines. Three of them were back there yesterday evening.

But I thought about it and decided it's okay if the bunnies come back there. I actually like the bunnies (as long as they stay out of the gardens ).

If you saw how heavily reinforced the gardens are against bunny attacks, you might understand why I'm not THAT concerned about them. Although I did find one building a nest beneath one of my tomato plants last fall.

The squirrels are another matter. In fact, I got the stuff to get rid of the squirrels because they were back there raising Cain digging little holes everywhere and just causing panic and mayhem and rioting. But they're nowhere to be seen now. :yeeha: And that's good enough for me.

I wish I could have known about this just a couple weeks ago. EVERY peach has been taken from the trees and most of the cherries. Stinking varmints got them all last year and this year they started even earlier, the peaches weren't even golf ball size. Three years of living here, three prolific peach trees, and we haven't enjoyed one peach! :waa:
I tried the hot pepper wax last year; maybe they're Mexican squirrels 'cause it didn't stop them.
I will definitely keep this in mind for next year.
