Carla Emery will be coming to TX in Nov.

I have arranged for Carla Emery to come to Texas the first of November. Just west of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex to be exact. I would like to possibly put together some workshops and what not. I know this seems early in the planning stages, but I want to get things started. If anyone is interested, please let me know. Thanks.

WOW that is WAY more convienent than Illinois for me (I'm between Sealy and Brookshire Texas). I was looking at a 16 hour drive (I think). Plus with November being the beginning of the rainy season for me which means 1-3 feet of standing water at my house, I may need a little escape. I would definately be interested!!!

Would there be camping too?

It will probably be held at my little country church off HWY 180 between Weatherford and Mineral Wells. I am trying to get a better idea of how many people and if anyone is interested in workshops~attending and presenting. There will possibly be camping. I will know more in a few days. There is also a cost for Carla to come out due to gas and what not. I will probably take donations to help with the cost of that also. I know there are quite a few that would like to see her. Thanks.

greenacres, i definitely would be interested in attending workshops. I think there are more than enough "homesteaders" from Texas to make this a success. Just keep posting and more and more people will see the posts and respond sooner or later. By the way, when you say the first of November, do you mean on Tuesday, November 1 or the beginning of November?

Talking Count me in ...

I'll be there ... will have to drive down from NE Oklahoma but should be worth the time and effort for me since I am just starting to seriously consider making a clean break and leaving the "Rat Race" ...

Question:

Will you have similar Workshops/Sessions???

I was hoping to attend:

1) Home Butchering
2) Milking
3) Bread Baking
4) CheeseMaking
5) Food Preservation ...

Hmmm ... or maybe I could attend both Workshops and learn twice as much ...

Anyways, count me in ... oh yeah ... THANKS and God Bless !!

Did you post in Countryside Magazine too? I'll bet you can get a letter in before they print July/August. Might get more people that way.
