How to build a spring house

We finally walked the entire property last weekend and found that our creek winds all the way through and even branches off in one area. The side of the bak are pretty high, about 4 ft in most places. Could I build a spring house in the inside of the bank by digging it out some and bracing it in with wood?

If your property is rocky I'd use a couple bags of Quickrete and rocks (reinforced with poles) for better insulation.

Here's an interesting link http://waltonfeed.com/old/springhs.html

Good question! I kept going to Paint on my computer and making my picture smaller and smaller until it was accepted!

It would be very important to find out if the creek floods before constructing any structure, no use in watching something flow away after you have added time and labor. The high sides indicate that there is high water at times. I have heard of a spring house with floating lower sections that rise as the water does.
