looking for organic grass hay near Spokane, Washington

We're down to the last of our hay and our regular sources are out. The local paper which can usually be counted on for this sort of thing lists nothing organic.

Anybody know of a source for Organic grass hay within a couple hours of Spokane, Washington?

You might want to look on www.agriseek.com They have an ad section for forages, and both buyers and sellers can post.

For the future, if you have the storage space, you might want to buy it out of the field or buy it by the semiload, would likely be cheaper buying in larger quantity and buying "in season." You can carry over what you don't use for next year. Not always, but hay is usually cheaper when the ground is green rather than white.

I spent a few minutes on agriseek looking for hay with no luck. Any suggestions?

More storage space is on the agenda for this year.

Just sort of throwing out ideas. Don't know how helpful they'll be.

1. Do you know of any hay auctions in your area? Might be every week or every other week. You could call them up and see if they ever get consignments of organic hay.

2. There is probably an organic hay growers association or some group that assists with helping farms get organic certification. Might try to contact them as well as some farms that raise organic beef/dairy. Might help you with leads on tracking down some organic hay or even have some to sell.
