Anyone live near a Radio Station that does not have news at the top of the hour?

There was a Radio station(WILY Oldies 1210 - Centralia Illinios) that played Oldies music all the time, and at the top of the Hour, there was no news only music! only until September the 11th did they start running cnn news...

But it was really grand, you could listen for hours and not get bothered by bad news, it was great! It was like I was back in the 50's. it was very nice not hearing, "another soilder is killed near baghdad today..etc"

I'm wondering if there is a small station where you live that just plays music?

Not now but back in the 70's WORJ in Orlando played only music,no commercials ever, no news, no weather, only what was known as 'head' music 24 - 7. What a loss when they converted to contempory trash.

Heck the local TV news doesnt hardly have any news... Just tidbits and entertainment info. SOrry Michael jackson going to the hospitial isnt news.
They tease and streach out report. The local TV stations has a weather tidbit at the beginning of the newscast and you never get the entire weather report until 42 minutes into the brodcast. Of the hour long program you get maybe 15 minutes of real news.

LOL, we got a T.V. station around here, channel 13, it used to be a independendant station showing poorly edited movies and local news, but now Pax network owns it, now no news and info comercials!
