How about those canibals next door? Maybe they'll eat them.

When I bought a place in MS years ago they were all over it. My standard doxy cleaned em out pretty quickly tho. He did it all on his own without any urging. LOL

"dillos are pretty interesting critters. The females always have identical quads, and they are the only other creature besides humans to be afflicted with leprosy.

if they are protected, can you trap them and relocate them on government land far away from you?

If you *find* a dead one use gloves or a shovel because I believe you can catch leprosy (Hansen's disease) from them.

Sincere doubts about protection of dillos.

Shoot 'em. Feed 'em to pesky stay-too-long guests.

They make a really big thump when you run over them (They jump straight up when startled). Maybe you can lure them out to the driveway? :haha: Then say Oops!?!

....and you can catch leprosy from them, so don't eat any or handle them.

After a nice exciting nature walk along a TX creek where we'd seen a few snakes probably both poisonous we walked past a clump of reeds. I was already a bit jumpy watching over three kids two not fully controllable. A sinuous movement of the reeds which made me panic that there was an ANACONDA in there was actually just an armadillo (right diameter, and scaley...)

SSS... Shoot,Shovel, & Shut Up. I can't imagine why they would be *protected*? I kill em all the time if they start digging holes along my fenceline.

Rock I think you need to check with the Department of Conservation. Dillo's are not protected in MO. So have at em.....

Well I made another call to the Regional office they told me they are not protected. But our conservation Agent said they were.

So I'm just going to shoot them.I killed a Skunk the othe day and the Armadillo drug it down in the hole feeding on it.

Armadillos are "protected' in Missouri because of the way Dept. of Conservation laws are written. Any and all wildlife that doesn't have a specific open season is automaticaly protected. It is technically illegal to swat a mosquito here. There are exceptions, animals causing damage to crops or livestock may be killed, but the DOC must be notified. In non emergency cases such as a massive amount of deer damage where several animals are to be destroyed pre approval is neccessary.
