Blue spots in the snow?

Okay, I feel totally crazy for asking this, but here goes...

I've been seeing blue spots in the snow. It looks like some animal has urinated, but it's BLUE, about the color of windshield wiper fluid. It usually appears near where there is some *ahem* "normal" colored urine. Is someone messing with me, or is there a scientific explanation for this?

just wondering...cabin fever is setting in real bad here! :haha:

A dog with a kidney problem?
Or an animal that ate something blue?

The "normal" urine is from snowmobilers. The blue spots are drips of the sleds 2-stoke engine oil.

I've seen them around here, too. They're Blue elephant tears.

So what should you do for a blue elephant? Cheer him up.....

Do you have the hot pink flamingoes in your yard.?? If so, you should take them in where it's warm for the rest of the winter. They aren't made to withstand the cold, and the blue is a clear sign that they are very uncomfortable. Meanwhile, to combat the other "signs", get outta the house and go shopping..... :haha: :haha: :haha: .......Margo

Blue snow

Have you been letting your dogs drink out of the toilet again? Shame on you. (From the movie "Uncle Buck").

It has to do with the way light is scattered. There is an explanation and a picture of the effect on this page.

On a PURELY HISTORICAL NOTE: Perhaps someone in your house suffers from
porphyria, a chemical imbalance in the body. One of its symptoms is blue urine.
It is now generally believed that King George III suffered from porphyria and that it is what eventually drove him mad. If I peed blue I'd be darn mad too and probably want to start a Revolution by taxing tea.

But this thread has gotten to be more entertaining than I ever imagined! :haha:

OK, and after spitting he's then gone on to...

I mean, hence the proximity to the normal...

Oh, never mind.

Ever tried to laugh when you have a cough? Man, I hate winter colds. Have to say, this was a pretty funny thread. Now, I need to catch my breath and find some cough medicine-red, I think.
