What a beautiful bridge. Is it for real?

That was some wreck.

Yup, Lynnwood. But I have property in Oak Harbor as well. Nice shot of the truck. Bet that was a thrill for the driver!

BeeFree, that's a real bridge - Deception Pass. The water below is incredibly turbulent - it supplies the tidal current for a large portion of the puget sound - all passing through that small gap in the rocks. Lots of people have died there WITHOUT dropping off the bridge first! They were in boats that weren't powerful enough to make it through, or went through at the wrong time. Very dangerous place.

I'm in Wally World.

I'm really glad I wasn't driving that truck.

Bellingham...pretty darned close to Jen, it seems! (We're in the Squalicum Valley, west of Nugents)

Anyone ever want to do a lunch? I've got a bunch of soapy buddies who try to meet up every couple months, it's great fun.

I remember that truck picture. The driver was okay, but what a scare. That's such a lovely area, but the bridge freaks me out!

Edited to add...Got Snow? Wondering how much you've got up on the hill, Jen! We had about a foot fall down here, but it's getting a bit compacted. I go nowhere in the snow, even had to call the neighbors down the road to take care of the other neighbors horses, lol, because I won't go over the hill! (And I'm not walking in three miles of snow, thank you :haha: )

Heh! I could probably wave at you when I'm heading in to get groceries!

We got 14" of snow up here, with 20mph winds. It's all compacting now and blowing into drifts. I had to drive into town yesterday to check on some elderly friends and the driving really wan't bad - the only people off in the ditch were the ones trying to pass us slow pokes.

Oh my, I will think twice every time I cross that bridge now!

I take a trip up that way every year to see the Tulips - maybe we can all meet up for that???

I take 101 up to Port Townsend and take the Ferry across and then cross that lovely bridge!!! Almost as bad as the narrows bridge, but that swirling water where all of the sound funnels through is quite a sight.

How about these views?

Great pics guys I'm here in Wenatchee--Apple Capitol of the World--or so they tell us lol. We got about 10inches in the past 36 hours--sure sucks cuz I have drive dh to work in Leavenworth and pick him up later. Spent 4 1/2 hours driving friday just to get my errands run, the 60mph highway was barely safe at 35mph, same thing yesterday.

BTW Been over that bridge at Deception Pass and it scares the hell outta me! Just like the bridges in CA that actually float right on the water--completely creepy.

Hey, I just started a meet-up group online... homesteaders meetup
I expect y'all to run on over and sign up! It says Bellingham, but it would be cool if there were just one for the entire northwest region, don't you think?

I also set up a meeting date, because the program sets you up with one each month. We don't need to actually hold one then, but if you want to we can. I actually love the idea of meeting for the Tulip Festival this spring!

Hi fellow Washingtonians!

I'm in NE Wash, Colville. No interesting bridges here, just mountains & snow!
