What are the scabs on my rabbits face??

Recently whilst looking after my rabbit I hhave noticed that he has some scabs on his cheeks on both sides, it can't be scabs from fighting cos he lives on his own - anyone got any ideas??

Is his nose snotty which would cause him to scratch at his face? Is there a rabbit in cage next to him that he could be rubbing on and sticking face through?

Can rabbits get soremouth? That would be my guess.

Have you checked his feeder for rough spots? Rough or rusted spots on the cage walls? Is he scratching himself with long nails?

I would check his nails they may need clipping. I just used toe nail clippers but becareful!!! Don't get the quick. And have someone hold him while you do the clipping the more hands the better.
