Joel Salatin has a new book out titled: "Holy Cows & Hog Heaven: The Food Buyer's Guide to Farm Friendly Food." Basically divided into four parts: The Farm Friendly Producer, The Farm Friendly Product, The Farm Friendly Patron and The Farm Friendly Policy. Book pretty well sums up his philosophy on direct farm to consumer sales.

off topic ken, but i'd like to take this opportunity to tell others about your excellent article in the new countryside mag about making grass snakes from re-bar - very informative -
wonder if you've ever seen snakes like this made from old round wood rasps - the "teeth" on these rasps make very life-like scales and produce an interesting and salable product -

Yes, I have seen them. The tang is often used as a tongue. I have also seen them made by folding a horseshoer's rasp into a tube. Rough teeth then come nice scales.

An interesting touch is to fuller in tire tracks sideways.

Darn't that means the new Countryside is out and I need to send in the next article.
