Sources of UNwanted Emails ?

............I , receive probably 25 Unwanted Emails in my primary Email Addy every day ! Yahoo will block up to 500 sources of these types of emails . So , my question IS , Are there , say a hundred or so businesses that origionate multiple emails on a variety of subjects ? IF yes , why can't I block the business doing these mass emailings , rather than blocking a singular Email on "Sexy Russian Women" ? Is this possible ? , fordy

You should be able to block them by using keywords with the business name, or by their address

There may even be an "unsubscribe" link on some of the mail

You could also contact them and ask to be removed from their lists

In Yahoo mail you can mark them as spam and over time you will begin to see less of them. Actually, for me, the normal spam filtering that Yahoo uses keeps most all spam from my inbox. I do periodically check the spam folder to make sure it is not blocking something that is actually a good email. When I see them in there, I can mark them as 'not spam'.

Are you using their web email interface or a local client such as outlook? I use the web interface and it blocks spam well but I don't know what happens if you use a local mail client.

..............I use Yahoo exclusively ! Yahoo's spam filter works quite well , but I still have to purge it every couple of days . I asked the question because I'd like to designate a list of spammers that would preempt them from sending any spam at all , thereby , hopefully , the spam section wouldn't accrue any emails that would have to be deleted . I realize some folks are getting like a hundred , Unwanted emails a day , my load isn't any where near that large . , fordy

Whatever you do, don't contact them saying you want to be taken off the lists. Speaking from experience, that gives them a sign they email is active and you'll never see the end of it.

............Nope , won't be doing that ! What I haven't figured out is how can I See their email addy without opening UP the email itself .
............See , what doesn't make sense to me is.................they classify emails as Spam , then they route them into MY spam section , and YET........I keep receiving the Same emails , over and over and over !? IF , they have been identified as "SPAM" by the filter , why , aren't they returned to the sender(s) when they keep showing up ? , fordy

I don't get it either, they should be blocked after a certain amount of messages are sent without the person marking it as Not Spam.
The closest thing I can think of to what you're saying is... In between the name and the subject, there's a magnifying glass, trash can and star, if you hover your mouse over it.
The magnifying glass will search for emails from that sender, and if you click it you'll be able to get the address out of the search bar without ever opening the email.

When you block an email sender I believe it blocks the sender and no matter what they try to send to you after it's blocked. One block covers every email they try to send.

Do NOT use 'unsubscribe' on the advertising emails unless its a local reputable business. You're just confirming its a valid email address and your start getting more.
