Gnawing rabbits!?

New one on me. We've been woken up a few times lately, early AM by something gnawing on our house. I sneaked out once and scared a rabbit but couldn't believe it was making the noise. Still assumed a squirrel or rat. But this evening, broad daylight, I heard a noise and was able to catch a rabbit in the act. What are they getting from the plywood? Normal behavior?

It's how they file down their big front teeth. There must be something in the siding that is attracting them also.

Never seen a rabbit, but I've had to do away with a few squirrels who were gnawing on my pine siding.
