cheap hard soap

I need some to hang in fruit trees, for deer repellant. I remember a hard yellow soap that was sold out of boxes by the bar without any other packageing. Any one know what it was called or any alternative? Thanks

I wouldn't bet on any soap actually keeping deer away from the trees if they want to eat them.

Fencing works much better

You can try Irish Spring. It may work for awhile.

Deer are curious animals, and new scents will often attract them rather than repel them.

I've seen deer walk right beside a pen full of deer hounds who were going ballistic, but the deer knew the dogs couldn't get to them.

Soap might spook them a little the first time the smell it, but after a few days they will become accustomed to the odor and ignore it

Or they will come in from upwind and not smell it at all.
