On my stainless steel appliances, I use a product called 'Sheila Shine'. It comes in a spray can and works great. Personally, I also like the smell.

I highly recommend.

As an alternative, when I worked in the restaurant industry as a kid, we used carbonated water to clean stainless. It came out of the soda fountains (no syrup).

Dang, logbuilder! Sheila shine was what we always used on concession equipment. That product has been around forever (and a gallon LASTS forever).

A word of caution - SOME "stainless steel" consumer appliances are not, but a surface the mimics the look. Verify in the manual which is used and suggested care.

I would try some baking soda on a damp cloth first. Or Barkeeper's Friend.

That's why I don't like stainless. Too much upkeep. I don't want to spend all my time cleaning up fingerprints, only to have streaks left behind.

I have a stainless stove. The frig needs to be replaced, and I don't care what color it is but it won't be stainless!

Hobart, who made a lot of stainless steel equipment always recommended mineral oil. Dirt cheap and food safe. Worked like a charm.

Have you tried white vinegar? I keep a spray bottle in the kitchen and use it to clean up the SS sink as well as the other appliances like the stovetop and our fridge.

Goo gone shines stainless amazingly. I use it on my sink. I don't know about appliances, but I'd think it would work the same.
My routine is spray down with white vinegar and sprinkle baking soda. Rinse. Wipe down using just a dab of goo gone till it's all shined up. Then going over it again with olive oil and buffing it. Using the oil work great in the sink to keep it from getting water spots. And it makes the sink look like new.
