Earthquake/Ardisam product warning

All just a heads up but over 2 months ago I bought an Earthquake gas powered auger with an 8" drill from Blains Farm and Fleet in Muscatine Iowa. I bought it to run fence in an area that is not access able with a tractor. Right out of the box it was hard starting and would not run without the choke on at least half way. Sent an email to the manufacturer since the farm store has a policy that once you put gas in it you own it and was given the name of their warranty stations. Bought it on a Thursday and took it to their warranty station the following Monday. The service center is Smith's Sales and service in Muscatine. 7 weeks ago I was told that there was 4 folks repairs in front of mine. Contact Ardisam and asked them contact their station. Got nothing but BS from them. Long story short I spent a bunch of money for their product in April, still do not have it and their customer service is non existent. Last time I buy one of their products and count my losses. Russ

Have you filed a report with the police about your missing auger? Did you by chance pay with a credit card?

I would file a report with the police and if you paid by cc file a chargeback on it. Also contact the Better Business Bureau about the repair company.

I don't know what state you live in but some states have a warranty of merchantability in which they are required to accept returns of non-functioning merchandise. Meaning you might have been able to return it to the store.

It should have had some kind of warranty and I think it would be easy at this point to say that it was not working correctly from day one and the company that is supposed to be repairing the defect has not done so. There is no excuse for them to still be holding it seven weeks later and it is still not fixed unless they are having the same issues with the original company.

Have you gone up the chain of command with the company that made it? I would call customer service and if they can't satisfy you, ask for a supervisor. Work your way up. Write a letter to the head of the company and make sure you tell them that you are more than willing to share this information on the internet on social media because you want others to avoid the kind of customer support you received after you purchased their inferior product. Give them a timeline to get the item fixed, replaced or refund your money and depending on the cost of it, offer that you can take them to small claims court. If this gets you nowhere then if it was purchased with a credit card, ask the cc company to reverse the charge. You bought something and did not get the item you purchased. You are not getting any help from the company to get the issue resolved so I have a feeling they would be more than willing to cooperate.

In some if not all areas it is required that equipment has 30 days grace shall we say. If anything happens to it in 30 days it is replaced. It is definitely supposed to be 3 days period. You could not use it without fueling it first. The store could not rightfully refuse return.

In the seven weeks they've had it have you contacted the shop that has it directly? People have been known to lose phone numbers or transpose digits and be unable to make contact.

would have contacted the headquarters for Farm and Fleet, not just felt with that store.
Might have gotten way better results.
