I don't understand what you mean by "now what", sell them or castrate them and raise them up for meat and put them in your freezer.

I guess I was kind of asking for a quicker refresher on how to care for the momma and babies in the first 24-48 hours. But ya know... Long term goals are good too.

Harry - Satan will be calling me?

They are cute. I'm no help with advice, no nothing about goats.

I would post this in the goat section, you will get more and better answers.

They are awfully cute. What kind of goats are they? Thanks for sharing the pics.

The momma is a Nubian Mix and the daddy is a La Mancha. Milk goats.

Maybe Harry is referring to that song, Sheep Go To Heaven and Goat Go To ....

Just kidding. I think goats are endearing, intelligent creatures and my DH thinks that they are tasty. He had goat meat and ekmek sp? in Senop sp? after he promised repeatedly he and his friend Bob wouldn't go down to the market...

I have only had goat one time a LONG time ago but it was good. These are milk goats but we do plan on adding some meat goats at some point in the next year or so.

You need to go to the goat forum where you will find helpful, caring info rather than the cries in the wilderness of the goatless.........

Oh- for starters, 1/2 cc boSe for the kids, look to worm mom soon as birth seems to trigger a worm explosion. Then think about a cocci preventative program in about 3 weeks.
Plan to spend lots of time watching and enjoying.

LOL, any animal that happily eats thorns and ivys and invasives has to has a purpose. However, one that pees on himself to make him more sexy to the ladies has a distinct flavor of the bus terminal in NYC in the 1960s.

... or maybe I'm trying to get your goat.

... or not. Goat stew is popular in this area, but the warnings not to get a single goat hair in the stew are just plain scary.

My buck uses aftershave. No really, I swear. Or maybe that's a bottle of goat pee I've been using.
