Rocket stoves

I am thinking of building a rocket stove to boil sap next year and to have if needed for backup cooking etc. Any ideas for designs? I have some clay chimney flue sections.

Yuo might want to check the archives. A while back there were some threads on rocket stoves. One guy posted a how to thread with pictures after he finished building his.

"Rocket stove experimenters forum" is home to many amateur and professional combustion engineers.

The world of rocket stoves has moved on from many of the old designs you find kicking around.
Now there are options for fireboxes, batch burners, active/passive heat exchangers... a million options.

Just don't build an "original" J-tube unit, they suck! Or rather they don't, they draw poorly and puff back. Original designers did not understand some of the concepts.
