Just because they have Jobs, does not mean they have money...
I worked a Job once, after the Bankruptcy payment and the child support, and taxes, and medicare and SS... BIG FAT ZERO.
But I would tend to agree people often are selfish and thankless... More so when turned into something just short of a animal depending on survival instinct...
I'm always thankful, Shoot boss would buy me lunch cause he knew what was going on. though that meant he bought for the crew as well.
I'm more then sure it was written off as a business meeting...

None the less, sometimes Only meal I had.
When looking to help people,I look for those I know... even if not needy, they can still use a hand.
And I like to think it fosters good will.
As such they help those they know and so forth.
You know paying it forward.
Leaves less room for those that would take advantage.
When I was young my family hit hard times, I remember being hungry.
We went to a small lake not far away, not even a small fish was caught. But we had hope in that trip.
Talking with a schoolmate led to the discovery of a soup kitchen just a short walk, yes they called it that. No food was given except as meals.
Which to me makes better sense. Should be no waste you cook whats served and it is eaten. rather then someone take something the may not use and go to waste.
I rounded up my brother and we went and checked it out. had a bit of food. Of coarse being on the hungry side, that bit did not appease.
But they where generous and allowed us seconds.
I upon arriving home told my parents of this discovery, that they should go there and eat as well.
They did but only once, I think it killed my dad. but he did not stop us.
They made do on what we spared by eating there.
I have not thought about that in a long time, but its still part of my fabric. that kindness is part of me. I won't begrudge the hungry.
if you can feed yourself more then likely you wont settle for what some one else offers. know what I mean. I'll go and get what I want, thank you very much...
My Grandmother on dads side took in many a kid, and fed even more.
One gal, almost 40 years or so later saw my name, and she asked if so and so was my grandmother, why yes she was, well seems my grandmother took her in because she got pregnant and her parents kicked her out. her help helped her to keep her child. and she eventually had a pretty lofty job. one with influence.
This Girl was of African Origin, and if I needed to describe her I would say Black , My Grand Dad Scott Irish and Grand mum French Canadian.
So kind of odd for folks in the 60's...
My long winded point being, help where you can, help when you can, the world needs all the help it can get and more so by the day.
forget convention, don't let a few jerks ruin it for all.
they will always be there. but so will those you can help.
