Help pick a name/logo for our farm
We're starting up a little farm on our property (We plan on selling grass fed beef and meat chickens) and we're having trouble picking a name, so I thought maybe I'd ask you folks what you think. We've narrowed it down to these two. It doesn't really matter, it's just part of the fun. I don't think we'll gain or loose customers either way. Thanks!

You're starting a farm?
Have you considered the name, Backache Acres?

Oh, I've been warned. It's mostly just a hobby.

That's tough. I like the sound and look of bearfoot valley farm, but I think the scripture verse addition to Joyful valley farm is cute too. All in all... I think I'd go with the bear. The logo is nice and has a rustic look to it and the name flows nicely.

Those are our thoughts almost exactly.
The bearfoot thing has a double meaning. We have lots of bear around, but also our crazy kids are always running around barefoot...even in the snow sometimes to greet me after work.

Bearfoot Valley. "Joyful Valley" is what is known as a "pathetic fallacy." Use of pathetic fallacy falls in and out of favor.

Interesting (and true). I had always pictured the "joyful" as referring to the people and activity in the valley, not the valley itself. Something to think about for sure. Thanks.

I guess you didn't consider Blackfly Cloud Farm? I like Joyful Valley for my vote.

I love the Bearfoot one and logo!
Few years back when we started instead of using our names we dubbed it Poor Man Farms...fits well...lol

I think Joyful Valley suggests you are selling scripture. Also, the style of the picture suggests you aren’t taking things seriously. Bearfoot is serious, but a bit playful. Of course you aren’t infringing on copyright with the pictures?

I'd think to myself "would I rather have bears or Joy?" Yeah...be optimistic, maybe names can be self fulfilling prophecies.

I really like all aspects of the bearfoot Valley one especially if the bear will remain in the sketchy style

Could be cute to make it "Paw's Bearfoot Farm"

Thanks for the input. I actually read the all the legal boring stuff for both images and they both made it pretty clear that they can be reused.
the bear:
ScottForesman grants anyone the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law.
The farm:
We try to make it clear that you may use all clipart from Openclipart even for unlimited commercial use. We believe that giving away our images is a great way to share with the world our talents and that will come back around in a better form.
p.s. We're not selling scripture, just giving a little away.

Thanks! It'll look just like that if I keep it.

Another vote for Bearfoot Valley. It's the one I'd be more likely to remember both name and logo for.

Reminds me of a story, "there was an old wives tale that said if a pregnant woman was scared by an animal when the child was born it would have a characteristic of that animal. Well a farm woman was out picking berries in the woods one day when she was confronted by a bear, the bear chased her up a tree, scaring her and then finally left. Her delivery day came and she was nervous because she had heard the old wives tale. The child was born and when she saw it for the first time she was in horror, the child was born with bare feet." ... works better if you tell it. As far as the logo, it depends on the image you want to portray, Bearfoot Valley to me portrays a more rustic, forest like image where Joyful Valley portrays a softer, flowers popping up all over surrounded by cute fluffy animals, image.
