Unhappy My Wife Was Laughing At Me

Been working on our Cabin. Yesterday went up there with Load of Subflooring, Sheeting and Studs. We was thinking we could get Floor Joist in, Subfloor and some Stud work up.

Drove up there with everything strapped down good. Did ok had heck of load on the Pickup.

Went to putting Floor Joist in Something isn't right. We knew how much we needed to cut off our 12 foot boards came up too long. Measured found all the boards longer than 12 foot. Had to refigure spacing putting a wall in at 10 foot.

Got Floor Joist in realized it was too late to do anymore. My wife says back the Pickup to the shed and we will unload it. We had unstrapped it. I back into the road, go to pull up the hill to back in. Half the load slides out in middle of the road. Get it all reloaded. Woman across the road was watching. Finally get it in the shed.

Got ready to go found neither one of us could hardly move. My wife says you remember about a month ago you was wanting to buy raw land and build a house? We're not young as we use to be.

Oh while we was there didn't take long for HOA came by to make sure we had Building Permit.

Got home took Pain Meds was still up all night hurting. Our Pastor thought he had upset me today because I was so quiet.

You'll need that sense of humor if you are building a cabin/house. Enjoy...

We're just building two rooms on existing Cabin but is proving a bit much.

I feel your pain. No, really, I do. As it turns out, I don't bounce back from long spells of intense, physical labor like I did 30 years ago. I can't figure it out. Maybe I'm getting older. Speaking of that, I used to hate country music. Right now, I'm listening to Patsey Cline on Spotify.

Are you going to move to the cabin, permanently, Rock-and sell where you're living? Or just have a "get-away" spot?

Things get harder to do and you end up hurting more as you age.

Just go slowly. Not that we have much choice as we age. You had a lot planned for one day. You'll get it done some day!

Oh it's just a get away. And if things get bad we could live there. Right now with the one small room it is just too close, using a Hide a Bed and it is a pain, folding out and putting back. We are building Front Room and Bedroom.

Right now mostly I can go by myself hunting or fishing. With my wife working she can only go Thursday afternoon until Saturday night.
