I am looking to buy a little freezer at the sale I go to on Sat. They sell usually several of these little freezers around 3ft high, 2ft wide, and around 3ft or less long.
Question is
IF I set it at its lowest setting, will it still freeze? Im wanting to store eggs in it.

I had one I got from Shopko, or Pamadia, someplace like that, to put fish and cray fish in from my traps, and yes from what I found even at the lowest setting everything froze up nice, until a year later when the piece of junk died.
You would do better probably to buy a little fridge, but others may have better advice.
There are easier ways to do it, too...just plug the freezer into the controller. Couldn't find that controller with a quick search, but somebody probably knows where to get it.
Well, im not wanting to spend much money on it, as im not sure ill come out on the eggs.
Do you think that set on the LOWEST setting, that, with the lid cracked, the bill would be high?
Hard to say. You should be able to do the thermostat change for $20 if you're a little handy with wiring. But if you don't want to do that, I would use a timer to shut the freezer off most of the time, just kick on a few minutes every hour or so.

Now that is cool (pun intended) Okay Bill get your chest freezer,
Just keep in mind your margins are going to be razor thin on this egg selling thing.

Yes, I do, at this time of year can't you just keep the eggs in the house, if I remember right your house isn't all that well heated in the first place is it??
I know your right cr. IF they don't sell, ill sell the chickens.
Yes Rich, keeping them in the house is what ive been doing, and, as you sauy, THIS TIME OF YEAR that works. BUT this is Okla. I wager we will be in the low 80s before Mar is over. maybe only a few days, if any, but in the 70s for sure.

I didn't say that! Just work it up like a business plan all the expenses what you expect to make, and all the markets you can possibly exploit.
With the whole healthy eating thing going on it's actually a pretty solid idea, just not real sure that sale is the best market for them.
Bill, if you don't wash the eggs when you collect them, they will last a good while just sitting on the kitchen counter.
But, if you want to keep them cool, just find a used fridge and quit futzing around...one from the 50's-60's should run $15-$25, as long as you don't get into a beauty contest.
FBB, I took the thermostat out of a old fridge that had died and put it into a 7cf freezer, running the cord through the drain hole plug(alot of 5cf do not have a drain hole)---then the freezer worked just like a fridge.
I havnt seen a frig from the 50s/60s in years/decades. I looked for one when I was in the mood to put all the inside of the house in antiques. Couldn't find a working old fridge in Tulsa.
You can buy an external thermostat for $15. It's called an STC 1000. I've used one on an old fridge for years to control the temperature of my beer and wine while brewing.
You can either mount t in a box and wire an outlet on the back to plug the freezer into, or just cut the power wire to the freezer and splice this in. Took me 20 minutes to set it up a few years back. Just make sure you get the right one. They make 110v and 220v versions.
You should be able to find a used refrigerator for around $150 if you watch craig's list. You could stack a fair amount of eggs in on of the mini fridges in geo's post. Do a little research and see what is available.
With out a lot of constant rotation the old eggs will be in the bottom of the freezer, I'm assuming it is a chest freezer.
