Thumbs up People Can Do Right

We hauled Windows and Door up to our Cabin today. Was setting in the Pickup getting ready to eat Lunch. My wife said look at the Shed where we have put our Lumber. Looked and the Door was open

Went up there everything was fine. Seems I hadn't got the Door good and shut. We hadn't been up there since before Christmas. Anyone could have loaded up their Truck but Thank God they didn't.

I really think there is more good than bad in this world, the bulk of people do right as a natural course.

I agree with you that there is more good than bad.

But the good doesn't get reported on nearly as much as the bad. On the news you may get one or two 'good' stories but you will get plenty of the 'bad' ones.

In our little town I drove down the street with someone who has lived here for 15 + years and while they pointed out the 'bad' people's houses (druggies, etc) they didn't point out one single 'good person' or their house. Now mind you small town, so not many of the bad ones around I suppose, but it just seems as if all people notice these days are the bad people and their actions.

I can be one as well. While out in town or shopping, I don't really remember those people that were nice all the time, but if I meet one person who isn't nice, I can remember them a lot clearer. Guess I need to focus on the good and nice a little more, as there is plenty out there.

Glad animals hadn't helped you out too. Do you have a neighbor close that can help watch things? Neighbors can be a huge blessing. I am always kind of worried about "bothering" people so I have a hard time stopping by to introducing myself and saying hi.

What are some ways to accent the positive and praises the good works of common everyday people when the media just reports the bad? I am trying to be aware of the good and kindness of the little everyday graces that come across my path. how do others do it?

There is people living across the road that are good about watching things.

Funny we had a Woman call and ask if we knew there was a Boat parked on our Lot? Yes it is ours What is Bad with the Boat I'm scared to leave it anywhere, it has a $600 Prop on it.

Back in 1978 I was working for a crew that I had been with since 1975.
We were building a nice house on a small lake for a retired minister.
I pulled in first on a Thursday morning and stopped before I pulled into the driveway and parked along the road.
I could see there had been other trucks in there and what I didn't see was several large piles of lumber.
The police came and a team of at least five pickups all the same wheel base and tires had ripped off seven building sites around that lake.
They took a whole basement worth of cement blocks from one site.

YES there are a lot more good people out there but we had a group of bad ones that night.

I agree with Joseph...we do hear more about the bad than the good. There is also the aspect of the "community" you "live" in. For instance my drug addict brother honestly believes that everyone uses drugs to cope with life....because everyone living in his community are drug addicted. BRP whose stories I have followed for years lives in a community where folks have many crisis' so when he reports a crisis I think "Of course, his whole community is in crisis most of the time"

I do not get shocked unless someone or someplace that I know to be peaceful and loving is attacked without warning. Then I know something is amiss. It does my heart good to see these peaceful folks rise up and deal with their problem "as a community". Blessings, sis
