Good news !

The winds are dying down and I just walked upstairs to the kitchen and for the first time in a week it actually feels like you are still on the inside! I'm elated!
Hang in there folks, there is hope!

oh yeah, kwym. it was +8C and sunny here today even if there is ice everywhere. tomorrow night and sunday supposed to be 30cm rain and +8 again. that should take down some of the snowbanks. they are calling them concrete snowbanks in Halifax. even the ploughs can't move them. ~Georgia

Supposed to be near 30 on Saturday, upper 20's on Sunday, then back down below 0 to 10 for a high on Monday. Then bouncing between 0 and 20 for the rest of that week. Then comes March we'll have to see what happens that month.

We don't care much for sleet and ice in these parts due to the damage it did to much of our knob land the last time it came through here. There's also the issue of power lines going down. I've been sitting here listening to the heavy sleet about an hour now. We had a record breaking cold temp of -22 F this morning. It's warmed up to 20 F.

Geez I feel so badly for so many nice folks there in the worst winter weather! Thank the Lord that spring is just around the corner. I am about to begin planting my fruit tree orchard and actually felt sad for those of you trying not to freeze to death.

It was 23 today. Warm enough I was able to butcher a steer. It will be back down to-17 tonight without windchill. I'm glad it was above freezing.

Suppose to be going down to -15 or so tonight. Got my feet sitting on a warmed firebrick wrapped in a hand towel. I'm ready for spring...

Still not a day above freezing in the long range forecast. On the other hand, my "new" planter gets delivered tomorrow or Wednesday so spring has to happen sometime
