Rose Hips and Vit C

I read where rose hips have a lot of vitamin C - so I guess a person can get some from his rose bushes and grind them up for that purpose - I was wondering if the rose hips that are on multi-flora rose are any good for this purpose - that stuff is all over the place around here - thanks

I have no clue but I have questions about for raging for rose hips. Do you pick them beforeor after the rose blooms? If before how do you still get flowers? Sorry if that's hijacking your thread!

Hips come out behind the bloom; they're rose fruits.

Multiflora hips are kinda puny, but still usable. We were able to get some fairly decent sized ones off our rugosa rose hedges.

You don't need to grind them after they dry, but you could. They also freeze well. You can make jelly or tea or anything you like with them.
