Made in the USA overalls

For those of you that wear Overalls, Round House has theirs on sale right now for $29.95 which I think is pretty good for USA made clothing these days. They have jeans on sale too.

Disclaimer: I don't work for them or receive any compensation, I'm just a customer.

I have 4 pairs of them, and hate them. I wear them to church ONLY, as there too thin to work in without tearing them. BUT, the thing I hate MOST, is that they don't have a watch pocket. Yes, they have the opening for the watch but the watch just drops into the overall pocket the watch slit is sewn into. Ive messed up several watches by them dropping out the top of the overall pocket when I had to go to the outhouse, OR was putting them on/taking them off. NOW, I take the watch out BEFORE I put them on/take them off, but don't when going to the RR>

Key makes a TOUGH overhall that is more like light canvas, and has the pocket watch enclosed pocket. But, they fade worse than Roundhouse. Bad thing about key, is that even with the buckles set at the same highth, or the adjustment straps, one strap constantly slips off the L shoulder. Ive reset the left adjustment way higher, and that works, but looks stupid, One set low, and one set on the top of my shoulder nearly.

I have 4 pair of Roundhouse overhalls as stated. 2 have the low back with detachable suspenders. which I had to special order, and I wear them in the spring summer and fall. and 2 that have the high back which is, now, the regular way they sell them for winter.

Big Smith makes the best overhalls with both the low back on special order, and high back, watch pocket, and match pocket. There hard to find down here in Okieland. I bought them as did my dad and granddad if not my g granddad in St Joe Mo. They made them there up till the 70s. I don't know where there made now.

Ive never been able to wear overhalls here. Too hot. Course, only in the last 2 yrs have I been able to wear long sleeve shirts all summer, so, who knows.

Im constantly looking for overhalls that have the watch pocket inside the overhall pocket.
Bout like looking for a red courdery flap cap with both the inside AND the outside ear flaps.

Oklahoma USA.

FBB, I've had the opposite experience with Round House. I've got a couple pairs that are several years old and have been used hard and are still in good shape. 'Course I don't care if they have a watch pocket or not, So it might make a difference if I did.

I've quit buying Key,Liberty,Dickies and Big smith since they moved production out of the country. The price of their name brand has outrun the imported quality, At least it had in the last pairs I bought.

Pointer brand have held up well too and I have some brown duck Carhart's that have held up for years. Not sure how the new models are.

Can't stand roundhouse at all. Bought 2 pair one time worn them once each and they shrunk 4 sizes and had to give them away after that. Key bibs work best for me.

Ive heard that Pointer makes a good overall WITH a watch pocket, but I havnt had a need to buy any. As long as I only wear the RH to church, they last alright.
Id like to get into the habit of wearing overhalls again. Havnt since I left home. Partially I don't as I fear that wearing them will make me hunch over, AND, I wear a belt AND suspenders now on jeans. The belt acts as much a back brace as anything to do with holding up my pants.

I haven't had any luck with jeans or shorts from Duluth. The sizing is inconsistent and after 2 or 3 washings the fabric shows wear.

I wore Osh Kosh for years and loved them. I am long waisted and the straps on most brands are too short for comfort on most brands. Carharts are the best fit for me.

Nother thing I hate about RH Os. The straps wont stay where there set. They keep sliding down to the buckle. BS Os never did that.
