flax seed

[Use Less]

I want to add some flax seed to my diet. I am surprised my little chopper won't crack the whole seeds. What appliance would I use? I'd rather buy whole and chop or grind every few days. Thanks.

Have you tried pepper or mill type coffee grinders?

I have a small 1 cup container that fits on the top of my blender. It grinds my flax seed easily. I usually grind up enough for a month or so and store it in my freezer for easy use and to keep it from going rancid once ground.

We add it to our bread dough and leave it whole.

Brown egg, we do the same thing. Makes ones' coat shine and glow, huh? lol

I use my little coffee grinder. It works very well. I top my oatmeal with ground flax seed every morning.
