Need Help Identifying Old Mixer

Went for a walk in the woods on the property and was looking for an old still I found years ago. Didn't find the old still but feel I was in the right area. I did find a dump site and found this old Mixer. Heavy rust and need help identifying.

I don't have a clue, but I found a pail just like the one in the pic in my woods. Only in much worse condition. I love finding rusty stuff to use as yard decor!
I hope someone is able to help you identify it.

Not a mixer. It's a butter churn.

I can't remember how to post pictures here, but do a google search on "Dazey butter churn" and then click on "images". You will find some pictures of ones similar to yours.

The top on mine is made of two pieces of wood.

The "can", or whatever that part is called, on mine is intact but seems kind of flimsy and grungy. I was thinking of having a new one made of stainless steel.

Thanks,

I found the markings on mine and it is a April. 1907 Patent.

This thing has been in the woods for about 40 years. I'll see if I can get the gears to work and might consider a new can.

again, Thanks for all your help.

It is defifnitely a butter churn. I used one as a child for my grandmother. Then as I got older and got married and we got our own cow, I used it to churn butter. It had 2 wooden lids on top with little knobs on them. I loved that old churn. It got stolen sometime when we were gone one day. Never found it again. Lots of good butter from it tho.

That pan, is the canister that sat in the churn and held the milk.

Correct..

I used the pot to bring a couple jars and that plow in the picture back to the house. The pot has holes in the bottom, but may look good on top of the kitchen cabinets...

I did go back to the site and brought back several brown glass Clorox Bottles, zinc jar lids, other jars and some old batteries...

Going back in a couple days..

The "pot" is called a Chamber pot, there is/should also be a lid.
