Feed and seed stores outside Northeast Philadephia

I am having a hard time finding a store to get feed at by me. I am looking for rabbit pellets and barley or wheatgrass seeds for fodder. Looked online for local feed stores and didn't find anything. Any hidden gems or places I have overlooked? I know I am near the city, but there are lots of farms within 5 minutes of me. I am specifically in Feasterville, PA. Thank you for the help in advance.

Have you talked with those farmers within your 5 mile radius? I'm betting they will have suggestions.

Is Agway still in business in the Northeast? Maybe check on their website to see where the nearest store is.

Thanks for the replys. Manta only lists one feed store in 40 minutes of me, they won't order it.

Looking on their website, agway, petco, and petsmart doesn't carry wheatgrass or barley seeds. Called some local garden stores, and they have no idea where to get it.

Ugh... I will see about contacting some local farms.

JoePA, Thank you. They have it. $8.78 for 50lbs of barley. It is about 1 hr 20 minutes from me. I will be heading there Saturday or Monday unless someone mentions somewhere closer.

Also, they said the seed is untreated but has a light coating of soybean oil. I assume that is not a problem for sprouting...right?

How long will the seed last? I was going to buy 150lbs or so, I may buy 300lbs since it is far away. I can store it in my crawl space which is dark, cool and dry.

You might call Rohrer seed co. in Lancaster, see if they have a distributor near you. If I need special seed my feed guy orders from them. phone # 717-299-2571

I looked on a map to see where you're located, and it looks like you're close to NJ. Is there a bridge that far north of Philly, and is there maybe some place in Jersey where you could look?

Is Davis Feed Mill still operating? It was just past Richboro, by Wrightstown Auto Parts (junk yard) off 2nd street pike.

Matt
PS Haven't lived there for 10 years, so not sure if it's still there.

Davis Mill is still open. Don't have barley or wheat grass though. I actually work in NJ, but haven't found much besides south jersey.

Went to Albrights. Nicely run place. Very busy too, good to see a quick turnover of feed. Barley was bagged April 2014. About 2-3% of the seeds floated when soaking, not sure what is typical. Seed was clean besides the loss shells. Bought 250lbs, expecting it to last me about 5 months.

Picked up a couple bags of pellets when I was there. Glad to be cutting back on the pellets soon.

I'll have to post my fodder system I just built when my water pump comes in Monday.

Thank you for everyone's help.
