Compare electricity bills
First winter in this home. The last two months I averaged 7.50 per day in electricity usage. 1972 model brick ranch, 1800 sq.ft. with full basement. All electric with heat pump. I have 2 deicers, 1 dusk to dawn light and 1 light on in the henhouse form 4am to 4:30pm. Most of the lights in the house and barn are the new energy efficient type. Water is from an electric well pump. Two adults that cook and bake a lot. Forgot heated cat bed, lol. We have had fairly normal temps for northern WV so far. I'm pleased, what do you think? Bty we keep thermostat on 67. If it is sunny, the west side of the house stays around 70.

$262.00 (average daily use kwh 86). so $8.73 a day, nov was $102, first year with a new heat pump, just could not afford pro pain anymore, not when you have to buy 100 gal at a time and last year it was over$4.00 a gal. I have a log home, and have and England add on wood furnace that hooks to the duct work and is doing a good job. I have the 2 fount heaters and one heat lamp in the chicken coop, move all chicken into one coop this winter. Well pump, electric water heater, My electric has been high since the kids moved back home they never turn anything off and run computer tvs all the time. and we do way more laundry. I have potomic edison and they read the meter every other month so if I for get to call in the numbers its estimated. I keep the heat set at 69, sure is nice to have another form of heat besides the wood stove, I could not be go long or stay over night with out a back up heat source. eastern panhandle wv

We're just outside St Paul, Minnesota. We have a 1950's brick rambler, 3/4 basement (finished), 2500 sqft total. Heat is NG hydronic baseboard. Hot water is also NG. Daytime temp at 70 deg, set back to 60 at night.
Nov - $2.26 per day electric, $2.26 per day Natural Gas. Total: $4.52 per day.
Dec - $2.53 per day electric, $4.74 per day Natural Gas. Total: $7.27 per day.
Electric and NG costs (Heat & AC) for the last 2 years averages to $5.56 per day.
Our electric cost is $0.07393 per kWh. However after fuel surcharge, fees and taxes it actually costs $0.1378 per kWh.

Same area as you Forcast and same electric provider. JohnnyRebel I know gas is less expensive now, our difference in cost is 4.83 per day for elec. with me being all elec.
What do you spend on gas per month and what costs you 2.83 per day in elec. with everything gas? Thinking about adding a propane heater.

All electric and bill averages $108 monthly with the ac and $160 monthly with the heat. We're old and want comfort that's easy. House is brick about a thousand sq ft and no basement. Tightly insulated with good windows and metal roof.
We received a surprise yesterday. We have belonged to this electric cooperative since 1981 and they retired capitol credits for the years 1981 to 1986 and sent us a one time check for $85 and change. I guess it pays to live a long life. lol.

Electric here except for the propane furnace. Electric bill in November was $155, and December was $179. Propane is $90/month for 8 months a year, but I think that will go down next year as we don't use that much. We have a wood stove and use it quite a bit.
We live in what was an old barn, so about 3500s.f. heated. Pretty thick walls, and we have added more insulation where we can.
During summer the a/c ups the electric bill by $50.
We keep the heat at 65F in winter, in summer I set the a/c at 78F.

Net of zero.
We used $90.47 worth, and produced $80. (solar)
The $14 difference came off our running credit for the year, and they still owe us $530.

Are you wanting to compare just electric bills or total utility bills, including heating with other sources? I notice someone in Maine with an electric bill of only $50.00, but I wonder if that includes everything. Mine in Texas ran $88.00 last month (2.93 a day), but that included everything as I have central heat. I keep the thermostat at 62 as I have a fireplace that helps heat the central part of the house. Not very efficient, but it does help some.

As most of you know I'm a homesteader in tn. I also have a online home business that is run from the homestead. That is how I started homesteading years ago. My home is just over 1150 sq ft. You can see my homestead HERE the heat is a heat pump I also have a fireplace. My cooking is gas I did that on purpose, because I'm really far out. My bill averages about $87 per month for the year. Check this out! I'm not sure if this is a joke or not, but to me it made sense. Please note I'm trying it out to see and will not know until the end of FEB. I figured I have nothing to loose but something to gain. I found in an email i received it is on youtube here is the link. HERE I'll let you know if it worked for me. Lets see what happens.

Heat a 500 square foot, 1950 mobile home with wood. I buy 8 foot oak logs and block and split them. Heat costs about $350 a year. When it's really cold out (think less than -20), I have an electric foot warmer on the bed that I turn on for a half hour before retiring. Also a heating pad to keep my feet warm when I am playing on the computer.
Propane for the gas stove, camper, ice fishing house, and BBQ is about $150 a year. The furnace is propane but I have not had to turn it on.
Electric for the well pump, lights, water heater, TV, computer, and AC in the summer averages about $80 a month.

Our electric bill averages $65 per month. We have all gas appliances but only use maybe 150 gals per year if that. We have an outdoor wood boiler to heat our 1400 sq. ft. timber frame with sips and heat our domestic hot water. We keep our house at 79. We have our house set up for solar but haven't had the time to get our panels mounted and hooked up.

I have heated with wood in the past, but was always gone 10 plus hrs 6 days a week and didn't really benefit from it that much. It was also a lot of additional work. I do wish the heat pump at this new place had propane back up like my previous house. It was great. I have a wood stove in the basement and a fireplace if there is a power failure. Jealous of the price IHUNT pays in Iowa..
