Favorite Work Gloves - Repair

I bought 2 sets of insulated leather work gloves, sort of a suede, a few years ago. The finger tips on one right hand have holes and the same thing is happening to the other pair. I have big hands for a woman but the men's glove are too wide.

Has anyone glued leather over this type of wear and what glue do you use?

It can get down to twenty below here or lower. I will look for replacements in awhile but I really like the way these fit.

I've stitched leather over the tips, but never glued...figured it would be too rigid.

I've taken an old leather glove and cut the whole finger off the glove, slid it over the finger of the "newer" glove with hole in it. Glued around the bottom, near the palm and never had it come off. I did this as I was concerned that just piecing over the hole, it would eventually come off.

I love those lined suede gloves. Dog ate one glove of mine, and I never replaced it as he's death on leather. Bad Dog!

I'm afraid I'm of the duct tape school of work gloves repair.

Duct tape was used on DH's Kinko's gloves and its still holding up but it bulks up the grip too much for me. Thank you all for your advice! I'll experiment and let ya know how things work out.

I'd be sewing them up with fishing line and a big eyed needle. It's worked on my house shoe sole before.

Yes. I fix 'em all the time. I've been wearing a pair of rebuilds so far this winter.
The best fix was mentioned earlier.

Cut the thumb (usually it's either index, middle, or ring finger that wears out, so a thumb is usually the only one that'll cover it) out of an old unlined glove, then lay some gorilla glue inside of it (I give it a pretty good amount) and slip it over the worn out finger.
I move it back and forth a bit while drying to make sure it'll work once dry.
This is 100x better than duct tape, (duct tape lets your fingers get really cold in winter), and easier than stitching.

I'd just go buy a pair of Kinco pig leather insulated gloves.. They hold up a LOT better than the cow leather ones... They are like $12-13... LOVE mine...

I have five or six pairs of deer hide Thinsulate lined ones and I love them.
So soft and not one showing wear yet.
I have about five years on my first two pair.
Every coat has a pair in the pockets.

Simi-steading, I agree that Kinco brand is a great glove. The ones we have were thrown away by someone else and still functioning. I don't think they make one fitted for a woman's hand. I'll double check on this though...

I like wool liners inside regular leather gloves. Usually one hand (right for me) wears out much sooner. I keep old gloves, and the left hand turned inside out becomes a right hand. Not very stylish, but workable. And the wool liners, especially the longer ones extending up the wrist are warm enough.
