Very cool way to live, I am afraid a little to remote for me. It is nice to see other people living it. Did you notice how they still had to have red tape to get power. No matter how far you live away from the masses, the long arm of regulations still find you.

In the 70's and early 80's I lived similar to that in north Idaho. But the road in wasn't as bad. Lived without electric or running water. Trucked water in from a town 30 miles away. In the winter the road to the cabin was impassable so we parked at the county road and hiked in 5 miles pulling a sled full of groceries. One time we hiked out after a long winter session at the cabin only to find our car had been trashed. Glad to be out of there. Be careful what you wish for.

That couple isn't all that far from me.

Unhappy

And my wife thought living couple miles off the road was just too much. This is the reason we sold our place

That is kind of how I lived in Montana. Though beautiful was a very physically hard life. I will always have wonderful memories of those times, but it sure is nice to go out and feed the animals without snow boots!

Me too, me too! LOVE it. Look at that lovely river. Beautiful land too. I could well handle the remoteness, the snow, the quiet. Absolutley!
