Flannel lined work jeans?
Curious if anybody uses flannel or fleece lined jeans for work around the place? I'm considering something other than bib overalls for a change, and thinking about something that is flannel lined which may allow me to get away from the long underwear used with the non lined jeans or overalls.
Fully insulated overalls are just too much for this area in most cases, particularly when paired with a carhartt coat. And the long underwear along with jeans/overalls can be irritating.

I love them. Never again will I willingly suffer the torment that is waffle-weave long underwear. The jeans are soft, don't cut off circulation to my feet (and I've got skinny ankles!) and much less restrictive and bulky than wearing two layers. My only problem is the price tag. They don't turn up in thrift stores too often.

I see Bi-Mart has 5 brothers fleece lined jeans advertised in their flyer for 19.99, regular 27.99. Is this fleece like pajama pants? I had a pair of the pajamas once, would think it would soak up a lot of water. I used to have a Levi denim jacket that was flannel lined but it was kind of rough, can't imagine wearing that around the sensitive areas all day if doing a lot of walking. I have seen "lined jeans advertised, never looked to see what they used for lining.
In the winter when it is wet and cold here, I wear the old green wool "army" pants but have to wear long silk bottoms with them. They can be soaking wet and are still warm as ever....James

Bought DH fleece lined Fire Hose flex work pants from Duluth Trading Company this fall. I swear he hasn't taken them off I came into the living room the other day and he was laying on the floor, he looks up at me and says "these are the most wonderful pants I've ever worn". ?? Guess they're good!

My girlfriend was given a hand down pair of fleece lined jeans by her aunt but she said they make her legs itch and now does as we guys around here do and if its too cold for regular denims but not cold enough for fully insulated coveralls or carhart union suit , she wears the bottoms of a pair of two piece thermal knit long handles.
She said for the price that her aunt paid for the fleece jeans she could buy four pair of two piece thermal knits with more clothing choice versatility.

I have a pair of flannel lined jeans and they are great. I still do wear thin satin type long johns under them in the coldest weather but they are cozy!

I bought a pair at old navy a few years ago, i loved the cut, and the feel, but they finally fell apart, and unfortunately I haven't seen them there again.

DH and I both wear them all winter long. I bought carhart's in men's sizing because the women's lined were thin and worthless looking. I don't think the maker's believe that women actually work outside in the cold.

Yep....that's where I buy mine. The "firehose" variety. And they back them with a "you can't wear these out" guarantee....which of course you pay for in the initial price.....but they do honor. I've sent back pairs that were totally abused, and they send new ones.

Well this thread just cost me some money! I have wanted to buy a second pair of lined pants so got on the Duluth site and ordered a pair of firehose lined and three Henley shirts. I'm still looking at some smartwool socks and waiting for DH to decide if he wants something. Oh yeah, they've also got some cute purplish overalls too.
You people!

My husband couldn't live without his flannel lined jeans. I think getting to wear them is the only thing he likes about winter!
