Any catalog offering grapes lower than this?

Burgess has Concord grapes, the kind I want, 6 2yr old plants for $18.00. Does anyone have a catalog beating those prices?

Double A vineyard if you buy in bulk. I will be placing an order in the spring if you want to go in on it.

What is a bulk number? I would only want at the most 2 doz.

If I went in with you, id have to pay my part of the shipping TO YOU, and than pay the shipping of my part from you to me. Shipping would likely eat up any profit from a otherwise good idea.

I find grapes I like, get some cuttings when the owner prunes them and stick them in the ground and put a gallon glass jar over them. I do like to use rooting compound....James

yeah, ive done that too James. Had a kid I went to school with up home who did cuttings. They didn't make it. Likely do to lack of water. Don't know if he does it anymore. I even dipped one end in that stuff that materializes roots,

as long-lived as grape vines are, I'd seek out an operation that specializes in them and pony up for very good quality. I'd put roses and other fruits in that same line of thinking for me personally. Burgess and the like ARE great for seeds and plants that I only reasonably expect getting a few seasons out of.

50 vines to get the bulk price. They are very nice vines. If you want cuttings i can send you as many as you want for postage.

Thanks Winemaker. Ill keep that in mind. I grew up in an area in Kans that was grape growing country in the Mo River Foothills. Ive seen grape vineyards covering 20 acres, Well, only saw one that big, but I know there were others in the past. During prohibition, you could make wine but not booze. After 60 they were all ripped out and were planted to apples. After 80 the apples were all gone and the ground was farmed.

Burgess has had a terrible reputation for many, many years. I suppose the only way they must stay in business is to keep selling at a deep discount to lure poor suckers into buying boatloads of plants...

Low quality plants that rarely thrive is their hallmark. Me and my friends, and their friends... (and on it goes) can tell you sob stories. We would not plant anything from Burgess even if it were FREE.

Buyer beware!

As to why I want Concords. That's what we had as a kid. Ive tasted every kind of grape that grocery stores sell, and NONE of them are as sweet tasting as the Concords. I imagine the ones I tasted shipped better tho. AND, the Concords are cheaper to buy

I've never made lilac blossom wine. I've made dandelion, rose petal, and citrus blossom wine. I make about 50 gallons of concord a year. Try some niagara or moore's diamond grape vines, the white version of concords.

Niagara is what Welch's white grape juice is made of. Diamond would be hard to find, it tastes like a mellow pineapple juice. Check local wineries to see if they grow them.

WM Im sore I don't want my grapes tasting like pineapple juice, and ive never had Welches white grape juice, tho I LOVE their regular grape juice.
Theres a soda pop that tastes like Concord grapes. I drank it all fall.
