GPS Tracking for Children

Where would I buy a device I could attach to a child's book bag or clothing?

Was't sure where to post so move if necessary.

Amazon carries them. I wish they had been around when I had little ones.

I just looked at this and don't get it i guess....says it needs a sim card and u can get a free one from o2 which i think is British only?
Isn't a sim card basically cell phone service and u would have to pay a monthly fee then?

Any GPS tracker will require some kind of cell service, so yes you have to pay monthly or at least have a prepaid balance. Most of them use text messages to report their location, but some use data service. That one was confusing though. Looks like the description is written by a non-native English speaker. And the reviews are pretty bad. There are some decent ones out there for equipment/vehicles. Sorry, I don't know about any for attaching to a child. Amazon is a good place to look. Just check the reviews.

I guess I'm missing something. Children are notorious for losing book bags, and a GPS tracker can be torn off clothing in the process of kids being kids. If you don't mind my asking, why do you feel the need to keep track of your kid using a GPS tracker?

You could check into GPS tracking bracelets and other tracking systems used for monitoring the elderly and people with alzheimers who are at risk of wandering and getting lost.

I don't have kids but would think in case they get lost, kidnapped or go places they are not supposed to go ?
I was more interested in a device to attach to a car or equipment,or even a dog in case they wander away...

I just figured they have their reasons and it's none of my business...but it would sure make it easier to find those lost book bags if there was a tracker in them. I'm assuming the goal here is to find the kid though.

These look mighty cool:

One has to replace them yearly and they aren't terribly cheap but I think the tech cost will come down.
